How to configure Multi-area OSPF lab in Cisco packet tracer

OSPF Multi-Area Configuration:


In this lab we will configure Multi-area OSPF using Cisco packet tracer.We have Network topology diagram in which we can see there are three router with Two area Area 0 and Area 1.


Now we have to configure OSPF in such a way in which devices in area 0 can easily communicate with devices in Area 1.



Network Topology:


IP Addressing configuration on Router -1:

Router1(config)#
Router1(config)#int GigabitEthernet 0/0
Router1(config-if)#ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
Router1(config-if)#no shutdown.

OSPF Configuration on Router-1:
Router1(config)#router ospf 10
Router1(config-router)#network 192.168.10.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
Router1(config-router)#router-id 192.168.10.1

IP Addressing configuration on Router -2:

Router2>en
Router2#
Router2#config t
Router2(config)#
Router2(config)#int GigabitEthernet 0/0
Router2(config-if)#ip address 192.168.10.2 255.255.255.0
Router2(config-if)#no shutdown.
Router2(config)#int GigabitEthernet 0/1
Router2(config-if)#ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0

OSPF Configuration on Router-2:
Router2(config)#router ospf 10
Router2(config-router)#network 192.168.10.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
Router2(config-router)#network 192.168.20.0 0.0.0.255 area 1
Router2(config-router)#router-id 192.168.20.1

IP Addressing configuration on Router -3:

Router3#config t
Router3(config)#
Router3(config)#int GigabitEthernet 0/0
Router3(config-if)#ip address 192.168.20.2 255.255.255.0
Router3(config-if)#no shutdown.

OSPF Configuration on Router-2:
Router3(config)#router ospf 10
Router3(config-router)#network 192.168.20.0 0.0.0.255 area 1
Router3(config-router)#router-id 192.168.20.2


Verify OSPF:
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 192.168.20.1, timeout is 3 seconds:

Router#sh ip route ospf
